Continuing Education for NC Real Estate Brokers & Teachers; NC Real Estate Exam Prep;
It depends. Read more here.
You forgot to take an Update and/or elective. Now what?
Every NC broker MUST take the right Update course (either the BICUP or the GENUP) and an elective every single license year.
FIRST: has your license been on inactive status for less than two license years with a CE deficiency?
Then you must:
–– complete the current year’s CE requirement in full (i.e., take the general update and one NCREC-approved elective), and
–– take either one or two approved electives to make up for the number of hours you did not complete during the preceding license year; and then
–– submit the License Activation form.
Check with the NCREC to make sure you are taking the right make up classes.
OR
Has your broker license been on inactive status for more than two license years with a CE deficiency?
Then you must:
–– successfully complete two 30-hour post-licensing courses (courses must be completed
within six months prior to submitting License Activation form), and
–– complete the current year’s CE requirement in full (i.e., take the General Update and
one commission-approved elective); and then
–– submit the License Activation form.
You can read the NCREC's version of this information here.
If you don’t renew your license online by June 30, your license will expire, and you will have to cease providing brokerage services. Refer to the “Reinstate your License” page on the Commission’s website for information regarding license reinstatement.
NOTE
If you hold BIC Eligible status and your license expires or changes to inactive status on July 1, you will automatically lose BIC Eligible status and, in turn, BIC designation (if applicable). If that happens, and you wish to regain BIC Eligible status, you must
(1) return the license to active status;
(2) meet the experience requirements for BIC designation;
(3) take the 12-hour Broker-in-Charge Course before re-designation; and (4) complete and submit the Request for BIC Eligible Status and/or Designation form (REC 2.25). Do NOT take the 12- hour BIC Course before your license is on active status! Refer to Rule 58A. 0110 for detailed instructions regarding regaining BIC Eligible status and BIC designation.

I will not teach any Zoom or live classes until mid-August. Sorry. Check the NCREC to find live classes.
I have on-demand ELECTIVES available at 12:01 am on July 1. These are similar to recorded webinars with videos, reading and some relatively easy quizzes.
If you have never taken an on-demand course before, read this: https://debbietheteacher.com/on-demand-faqs
You might find this video helpful too (it's only 4 minutes long): https://debbietheteacher.com/using-talent-lms
You won't be able to start the classes until July 1. That's a NCREC rule.
What you can do right now is to choose the electives you are interested from here: https://debbietheteacher.com/enroll-in-a-course
There are six electives to choose from.
On July 1, the blue buttons under each course description will be active. You can also go directly to my on-demand website here: https://debbietheteacher.talentlms.com/
The classes have been approved for four hours of elective credit, so they can be completely in roughly 4 hours. But that depends on whether you are trying to do the course in one sitting or log out and come back later (you actually have 30 days to complete a course.) It also depends on how fast your technology is and how quick a student you are.
Within 8-12 hours of completion or sooner. It depends on whether you are finish the course at 2 in the morning or 2 in the afternoon. I have to sleep, you know.
But I won't be teaching live or on zoom until mid-August.
